Yuval Noah Harari is an Israeli public intellectual, historian, and a Professor in the Department of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is the author of the international bestsellers ‘Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind’, ‘Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow’, and ’21 Lessons for the 21st Century’. His books have sold over 45 million copies in 65 languages, making him one of the world’s most influential public intellectuals.
Harari’s work explores the macro-historical questions surrounding the human species, focusing on the intersection of history and biology. He investigates how Homo sapiens came to dominate the planet, the impact of artificial intelligence and biotechnology on the human condition, and the existential challenges posed by climate change and technological disruption. In 2019, he co-founded Sapienship, a social impact company focused on raising public attention toward global challenges.
With a PhD from Jesus College, Oxford, Harari has received numerous accolades for his work, including the Polonsky Prize for Creativity and Originality.
